• 2018-current–Study Physician for Global OCD multisite study investigating how the brains of people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) work in comparison to the brains of healthy individuals. The project was launched early in 2018 and will be conducted over a period of approximately 5 years lead by Prof C. Lochner (University of Stellenbosch) and Prof Dan J. Stein (UCT) in South-Africa. –Tygerberg Hospital
• 2020—Psychiatrist for South-African participants (with Schizophrenia, Bipolar and Schizo-affective Disorders) in Neuro-GAP. Neuro-GAP is a collaboration between researchers at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and universities and institutes from South-Africa (University of Cape Town), Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. The main aim of the study is to boost genetics research capacity in Africa, and ultimately to help close gaps in knowledge about mental health in a population historically excluded from genetics research. I am responsible for assessments on participants at Mitchel’s Plain Day Hospital, District Six Day Hospital and Valkenberg Hospital.
